Cozy Beach Maternity

I’m forever so honored to capture client’s maternity photos! As someone who has carried four of my own children and given birth in just about all of the ways, I am a believer in the empowerment of pregnancy. Maternity photos give mothers a chance to feel confident and playful! These photos are great for putting up in your nursery, adding to a gallery wall of your favorite pictures, or placing in your photo album for friends and family to look through at gatherings and holidays. Pregnancy isn’t often memorialized and I don’t think it’s fair to skip over such a powerful, phenomenal phase of life.

Lindsey reached out to me for a quick, cozy beach mini in September! September here in Michigan can be a bit hit or miss for weather, but it actually ended up being such a great evening! Overcast, warm albeit a little windy, and we had the beach to ourselves. She wrapped up in sweaters and we captured the beginnings of Autumn here in Michigan on the lakeshore.

Mini sessions, if I’m being honest, are pretty dreadful for me. There’s little room for connection and even less room for creative play. Thankfully though, Lindsey was my only client on this particular night so we just played and created and forgot about time. You can really feel how she started to relax and feel playful when you look through the images! It’s that 20 minute mark where clients really start to show their personality and warm up to the camera.

Showcasing each individual personality through images is one of the most important parts of my work! I want clients to look at their gallery and see their favorite toothy smiles, giggles, and eye crinkles. Images should showcase emotion and authenticity First, and everything else second.
